FORMER pope and head of the catholic Church Benedict XVI has passed away at the ripe old age of 95 almost a decade after he became the first pontiff to resign in six centuries citing ill health for his decision.

Pele finally succumbs to colon cancer and passes away at the age of 82 in Sao Paulo

BRAZILIAN footballing icon Edson Arantes Do Nasemento popularly known as Pele has passed away at the age of 82 in a Sao Paulo hospital after finally losing an ongoing battle against colon cancer.

Ohanaeze denies rumour that its president Professor George Obiozor passed away on Boxing Day

OHANAEZE Ndigbo has vehemently denied rumours that its president Professor George Obiozor passed away on Boxing Day after succumbing to a heart-related ailment stating that he remains alive.

 

Professor Obiozor, an octogenarian, has reportedly been ill and unable to sustain regular public appearances. After he remained unseen throughout the Christmas festivities, one highly placed Ohanaeze chieftain said Professor Obiozor died on December 26 of a heart-related disease.
